SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN AT INA

A voluntary mass cleanliness drive was carried out at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala on 02 October 2016 as part of Gandhi Jayanthi Celebrations and in continuation of the Swachh Bharath Abhiyan. All service personnel and civilian members of the station along with their family members participated wholeheartedly in cleaning and sprucing up the areas in and around INA.

SEA TRAINING FOR CADETS OF INA

Three frontline Indian Naval Ships Teg, Trishul and Mumbai anchored off Ettikulam Bay, Tuesday, 13 September 2016 to impart and familarise the cadets with nuances of day-to-day activities onboard the warships and more importantly on various practical aspects of the training that they undergo at Indian Naval Academy (INA).

TRAINING CAMP CONCLUDES AT INA

Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala organised two concurrent training camps named ‘Samudra-Manthan’ and ‘Varuna’ for IVth  and VIIth term cadets from 07 – 10 September 2016.
A total of 295 cadets participated in these camps spread over four days. The camp was aimed to develop esprit-de-corps, sense of camaraderie, leadership qualities, physical endurance as well as mental strength in cadets under stressful environment.

CHEETAH SQUADRON EMERGES VICTORIOUS INA BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP

The finals of Inter Squadron Boxing Championship for Autumn Term 2016 was conducted at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala on Saturday, 27 Aug 2016.  A total of 80 cadets from six squadrons of the Academy competed for the prestigious trophy. A total of 40 bouts were conducted in eight different categories, which include Light Fly, Fly, Bantam, Light, Light Welter, Welter Middle and Light Heavy throughout whole of last week.

INTER SQUADRON DEBATE AND ROWING CHAMPIONSHIP

The Inter Squadron Debate and Rowing Championship for Autumn Term-16 was held at Indian Naval Academy (INA) on 20 Aug 16 (Saturday) and 21 Aug 16 (Sunday) respectively. Teams comprising cadets from all Six Squadrons of the academy participated with vigour in the much contested debate on the topic “In view of the massive influx of West Asian refugees to Europe, all countries have a moral obligation of allowing them entry on humanitarian grounds rather than blocking their arrival due to security concerns”

INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE AT INA

In commemoration of the 70th Independence day of India, a ceremonial parade was held at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala. The Parade was reviewed by Rear Admiral MD Suresh, NM, Deputy Commandant, INA.
A Ceremonial Guard, comprising 50 armed cadets, was paraded, along with 27 platoons of cadets from the Academy. Smartly dressed in their whites, the cadets on parade offered visible and tangible manifestation of a resurgent India. The parade was commanded by Academy Cadet Captain Shubham Kumar.
